Robin van Persie took to social media on Sunday afternoon to wish his wife Bouchra a happy Mother’s Day.

The Manchester United striker, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, posted a tribute to his other half on Instagram as he team-mates prepared to take on Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

Van Persie posted the picture above on the photo sharing app and wrote: “Happy mothers day to my wonderful wife!”

The Dutch forward also paid tribute to his own mother, José Ras, on the social network.

He shared the picture below and wrote: “Happy mothers day!! Thanks for all your loving and care mum.”

Former Arsenal captain Van Persie has been out of action since the 2-1 defeat by Swansea City last month after picking up an ankle injury at the Liberty Stadium.

The 31-year-old striker is working with the Red Devils’ medical team as he continues his rehabilitation.

Manchester United are currently fourth in the Premier League table heading into Sunday’s showdown with Spurs at Old Trafford.
