There will be two Rooneys on the pitch when Manchester United step out onto the field at Old Trafford on Sunday when they face Tottenham in the Premier League.
Wayne Rooney took to Instagram on Saturday night to announce that his son Kai will be the Red Devils’ mascot against Spurs.
The United-Spurs match may be pivotal to which clubs comprise the top four spots come the end of the season.
With both Liverpool (5th) and Tottenham (6th) breathing down their necks, Manchester United are clinging onto fourth spot in the Premier League by their fingernails.
Louis van Gaal continues to make fans wonder what his philosophy is this season, with the Red Devils having failed win matches playing good football for a large chunk of the campaign.
Man United will once again be without Robin van Persie this weekend, while Angel Di Maria is suspended following his stupid contact with the referee in last week’s loss to Arsenal.
Tottenham, meanwhile, have bounced back from losing the Capital One Cup final by scoring back-to-back wins over Swansea and QPR, and Mauricio Pochettino’s team – who have no injury problems, while Harry Kane has just scooped the February Premier League player of the month award – will be relishing the opportunity to upset Man United as well.
