Mesut Ozil and Tomas Rosicky were all smiles after helping Arsenal move back into third place in the Premier League thanks to a 2-0 win over Everton on Sunday.

Olivier Giroud broke the deadlock in the first half when he swept home from a corner as the Gunners looked to bounce back from their humiliating defeat at the hands of Monaco in the Champions League in midweek.

Arsenal were made to work hard for the win against a dogged Everton side at Emirates Stadium and substitute Tomas Rosicky secured the three points when his deflected shot beat Tim Howard late on in north London.

The win lifted Arsenal back into third place in the table and just four points behind second-placed defending champions Manchester City.

Ozil and Rosicky were clearly delighted with the result, as the Germany international uploaded the photo above onto his Instagram account and wrote: “A hard-fought victory – it was even more important looking at the standings now… #YaGunnersYa #Arsenal #AFCvEFC”

Arsenal take on QPR in their next Premier League game on Wednesday.
