Arsenal trio snap selfie and thank ex-team-mate for Man Utd loss

Per Mertesacker took to social media after Arsenal's 2-1 win at Crystal Palace to post a selfie with Laurent Koscielny and David Ospina – and also paid tribute to Lukas Fabianski after Swansea's victory over Manchester United.

The Arsenal trio all played the full 90 minutes as goals from Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud handed Arsenal a win which lifted them up to third place in the Premier League table.

Manchester United dropped down to fourth place after their 2-1 loss at Swansea City on Saturday.

And defender Mertesacker reserved a special mention for former Arsenal goalkeeper Fabianski after the Swans' victory over Louis van Gaal's side.

World Cup winner Mertesacker shared the photo above on his Twitter account and wrote: "On the way back … hello to all you gooners out there from the three of us. And a special hello to @LukaszFabianski."

Arsenal's next game is the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash with Monaco at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

They then take on Everton at home next Sunday in the Premier League.
