Irina Shayk leapt to the defence of her ex-boyfriend, Cristiano Ronaldo, during a Sports Illustrated event.

According to widespread media reports, when asked about the criticism aimed at Ronaldo for holding a birthday party after Real Madrid's drubbing by Atlético, Shayk labelled it "unfair".

The Russian model was speaking at the unveiling of the prestigious magazine's swimsuit issue, in which she features in a series of stunning shots in Hawaii.
