Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has a history of getting into trouble for smoking cigarettes.

Speaking in 2013, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reprimanded Wilshere after photos of him smoking in a club emerged.

Wenger said in October 2013, “The fact is that you can damage your health at home, you can smoke at home and you can drink at home, and nobody sees it, but when you go out socially you also damage your reputation as an example.”

This weekend a photo of Jack Wilshere holding a shisha/hookah pipe at Libertine Club in London emerged on Instagram but was deleted soon after.

Expected to be back in the Arsenal first team soon after suffering an ankle injury in November, Wilshere may be in hot water with his boss once again.

The photo was taken this weekend before being quickly taken off Instagram, probably at Jack Wilshere’s request.

After being photographed smoking last summer Jack Wilshere said, “The smoking? Of course I regret it. I’ve been seen before doing it. I said then I made a mistake and I made a mistake again.

“I mean, people make mistakes. I’m young, I’ll learn from it. I realise the consequences it has and the effect on kids growing up.”

Blessed with incredible talent, the 23 year old England International needs to be making more headlines on the pitch as oppose to off it.

Arsenal face Spurs in a huge North London Derby this weekend – a game which will probably come too early for Wilshere.
