The story of how Caroline Wozniacki inspired Cristiano Ronaldo to go in the underwear business

Danish website Ekstra Bladet have published an interesting story over the weekend revealing how tennis star Caroline Wozniacki inspired Cristiano Ronaldo to go in the underwear business.

Towards the end of 2014, Ronaldo launched a new line of underwear with Scandinavian textile company JBS.

Ronaldo's deal with JBS has since turned the company's turnover to a whopping 520 million Swedish kronor, or around 4.3 million pounds.

JBS have now revealed how Ronaldo's business connection started, claiming the Portuguese star was encouraged to get in the pants game after seeing Caroline Wozniacki in her underwear.

JBS-director Morten Alstrup told Ekstra Bladet:

Caroline Wozniacki is one of the reasons that we have got hold of Cristiano Ronaldo. He had seen how Caroline dared to be pictured in only her underwear that we had made for her, and he liked it.

Unfortunately for Wozniacki, though, the involvement of Ronaldo has seen her underwear contract terminated. As explained by Alstrup:

We had hoped to grab a market, but the impact of CR7 has been far, far greater than we dared dream of. So it is best for the company to stop working with Caroline Wozniacki.
