WEST BROM and England striker Saido Berahino has been charged with drink-driving.
CHARGED: West Brom and England striker Saido Berahino
The 21-year-old was arrested last year after being stopped on the M6 motorway.
Berahino, who has been linked with a move away from the Hawthorns, will appear before North Cheshire magistrates in Runcorn on 19 January.
The England Under-21 star has scored 13 times in 24 appearances for the Premier League side this season.
His form has seen him called up to the senior squad for the first time.
Following his arrest last year a spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said: "At around 03:39am on the morning of Wednesday 22 October, a patrol stopped a car travelling at high speed southbound on the M6 near J20."
Berahino scored four times at the weekend as West Brom hammered Gateshead in the FA Cup third round.

But the forward failed to celebrate any of his goals.
He said: "I was just handling business and acting professionally and that's it.
"There's no need for me to explain myself on not celebrating goals.
"It is what it is. It wasn't out of respect to Gateshead.
"I just didn't want to celebrate and that was it.
"I just have to do what I do on the pitch."
