Lionel Messi has reaffirmed his intention to remain with Barcelona for the rest of his playing career, although he did say that "there is a lot of movement in football and sometimes everything doesn't quite go as planned".
"I'm taking things day by day at the moment, doing my best to put together a solid season and help Barcelona do well so we can win all the titles that we want to win, that we're trying to win, and that's it really. Then we'll see. There's a lot of movement in football", said Messi. "If it were up to me I'd stay with Barcelona until I retire. But sometimes you don't get everything you want, especially in the footballing world, where so much happens and there are so many changes", he continued.
The Argentine ace also gave a rundown on how he thinks things are going for Barcelona at the moment: "It's a huge club, and when you lose two games then there are problems straight away, and there's criticism from every quarter. We've got a new manager, with new ideas, and that takes time". "We have more than enough players to do well this year. And I'm keeping calm. This is just the beginning. There's still a long road ahead of us in the league and in the Champions League… so I'm not too concerned", concluded Messi, placing his side's recent losses against Real Madrid and PSG in context.
