During an exclusive interview in World Soccer magazine's October issue, Cristiano Ronaldo stressed his desire to win the Champions League again, while expressing hope that the pressure will be off after last year's exploits.

The Portuguese says his aim is to

"The pressure of 'La Décima' was huge. A club of our size thinks we can win it [the Champions League] every year, but I think this year we will be calmer psychologically", noted the star.

On Carlo Ancelotti, Cristiano called his relationship with the players "perfect". "The coach is doing a phenomenal job. He's an extraordinary person, a great coach and we are happy to have him".

Asked about his ongoing duel with Leo Messi, Ronaldo observed, "It is part of my life. It is normal that people compare us". He also denied that there is any bad blood between the pair: "Not at all. We're work colleagues. Obviously, outside of football I have no relationship with him […] it's safe to say a certain rivalry exists. But we must face this rivalry in a positive spirit, because it is a good thing".

On the Golden Shoe, he stated: "An individual trophy is the prize for playing well as a team, but obviously, I'm not going to lie; I really wanted to win this trophy". He added that his aim "hasn't changed" over the years and is to "remain the best".

The Portuguese ace also reflected on the fitness issues that plagued him at the end of last season and during the World Cup: "I was not in perfect condition but I forced myself and it went well at club level. With Portugal it was more complicated because things did not go quite right, but it cannot always go well. […] In life you don't win without making sacrifices and sometimes you have to take risks. […] Sometimes I take my body to the limit, but all competitive athletes are the same".
