Karim Benzema pulled out of a training session with France after suffering some pain in his hip.
20 minutes into the training match, the player headed for the dressing room after conferring with the 'Les Bleus' doctor, indicating the area in which he was feeling discomfort.
The truth is, as the French national squad's communications team emphasised pitch-side, the forward has been struggling with some mild discomfort in recent games, a factor which points to the player's early bath being a precautionary measure.
Benzema is set to take part in this Saturday's friendly against Portugal at the Stade de France before travelling with his teammates to Armenia on Tuesday to play a second friendly. The French national side's medical team will have to assess whether or not the player will need to sit out game against the Portuguese.
Deschamps led the national squad's second session in Clairefontaine. The Real Madrid striker is the most important asset in the coach's attacking line up.
