Coventry vs Preston North End preview - McQuoid may return for Sky Blues

Josh McQuoid could return for Coventry in Saturday's Sky Bet League One clash with Preston at Ricoh Arena after recovering from the concussion which kept him out of City's last two matches.

Fellow front man Shaun Miller also pushed his claims for more playing time when scoring twice for the Under-21s in midweek as he builds back up to full fitness following calf and ankle problems.

Sky Blues boss Steven Pressley revealed that Frank Nouble and John Fleck are nursing groin strains but hopes they will both be okay.

Seb Hines is set to continue at centre-half as Reda Johnson misses the second match of his three-game suspension.

Preston will again be without Jordan Hugill and Kevin Davies.

Striker Hugill will complete a three-match ban but has picked up a knee injury during his suspension period which means his return is likely to be delayed anyway.

Meanwhile, former Bolton forward Davies has a rib injury and with his attacking options slightly limited, boss Simon Grayson could turn to Kyel Reid or Callum Robinson, who are both vying for their first starts.

Lee Holmes (chest) is still yet to appear this season but captain John Welsh (ankle) and winger Andy Little (hamstring) are closing in on returns.
