Chesterfield vs Notts County preview - Problems ease for Spireites

Chesterfield's injury problems appear to be easing ahead of the visit of neighbours Notts County.

On-loan Wolves defender Georg Margreitter has recovered from concussion while winger Gary Roberts, midfielder Sam Morsy and left-back Daniel Jones are all on the brink of being passed fit following their respective hamstring injuries.

Spireites boss Paul Cook said the trio were "touch and go" ahead of the weekend. If they were to be passed fit, it would just leave defenders Sam Hird (knee) and Drew Talbot (groin) in the treatment room.

Cook will take charge of Chesterfield for the 100th time on Saturday. The former Sligo Rovers and Accrington boss has won 46 of his previous 99 games.

Notts also have players close to making comebacks.

Blair Adams (thigh) and Haydn Mullins (leg) have been sidelined recently but the defenders have been training and could be involved at the Proact Stadium.

Kyle Dixon (ankle) is another Magpies player nearing a return to fitness, although fellow midfielder Reece Brown has returned to parent club Birmingham to receive treatment for an injury.

Striker Jimmy Spencer remains a long-term absentee for Notts boss Shaun Derry as he continues his recovery from the cruciate knee ligament injury he suffered during pre-season.
