Valencia vs Cordoba preview - Cordoba clash too soon for Negredo

Alvaro Negredo took part in his first training session with new club Valencia on Wednesday, but the Primera Division clash at home to Cordoba will come too soon for the on-loan Manchester City striker.
Los Che go into Thursday's meeting on a high with three wins and a draw from their opening four fixtures, including a 3-0 win at Getafe last time out.
The club said Spain international Negredo, who is recovering from a broken metatarsal, would likely be in a position to make his debut next month.
Nuno Espirito Santo's side have had little problem scoring goals in his absence, though, with 10 in four games, including three in each of their last three.
Andre Gomes, on loan from Benfica, was one of those on target against Valencia, capping off a flowing team move, and feels things will only improve for him as he beds into the side.
"It's something we work on in training every day," he said on the club website. "Before I said that I need to get to know my team-mates a little better and I think that this is happening now.
"We are going game by game. Now we are focused on Thursday and winning at home. The fans' support will be important."
Opponents Cordoba, promoted from the second tier last season, are still searching for their first win in the top flight after starting with two draws and two defeats.
They were beaten 2-1 at home by Sevilla on Sunday and defender Iago Bouzon knows they need to start picking up three points.
"Victories are important," he said, and added on the prospect of travelling to Valencia: "We have to be humble, but not afraid of anyone."
