AFC Bournemouth vs Rotherham United preview - Surman set for Cherries start

Bournemouth look set to include Andrew Surman in their squad to face Rotherham after his deadline-day move.

The midfielder spent all of last season on loan with the Cherries and made a welcome return from Norwich on a three-year deal last week and looks likely to be involved against the Millers.

Shaun MacDonald could also return after a spell on the sidelines but Elliott Ward has undergone surgery on a knee problem.

Manager Eddie Howe will hope his international players come back unscathed. Striker Tokelo Rantie has been away with South Africa while closer to home, Ryan Fraser has been with Scotland's Under-21s.

Rotherham could hand debuts to deadline-day signings Luciano Becchio and Jonson Clarke-Harris.

Both strikers arrived in the final hour of the transfer window last week, with Becchio's loan arrival coming minutes after the club shelled out around B#300,000 for Clarke-Harris.

Craig Morgan (hamstring), Frazer Richardson (foot), Paul Green (ankle) and Ryan Hall (ankle) are all in contention after they used the international break to regain their fitness, with Richardson set to make his debut for his hometown club.

One player who will not be involved is Mat Sadler after he rejoined Crawley on loan just three months after arriving at the Millers from John Gregory's men.
