Blackpool vs Wolves preview - Riga battles on at Blackpool

Blackpool's managerial situation has cast a huge shadow over this weekend's clash against Wolves, with Jose Riga somehow clinging on to a position which appears untenable.

The Belgian took training this week in the face of criticism from chairman Karl Oyston, who then spoke to Burton boss Gary Rowett regarding Riga's job during an extraordinary week on the Fylde coast.

Should Riga take charge on Saturday, he will be without Costa Rica international Jose Cubero, who is representing his country and is still yet to seal a work permit to allow him to play in England.

Fellow midfielder Jacob Mellis (knee) is among those out injured for the embattled Riga, who has presided over six successive losses during his short time at the helm.

Wolves have no new injury worries with boss Kenny Jackett set to pick from a fully-fit squad.

Jackett won the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month award for August and Wolves could go top if Watford fail to win at Charlton as leaders Nottingham Forest host Derby on Sunday.

On Tuesday Wolves signed George Swan until Christmas after his release from Manchester City but the defender, who turns 20 on Friday, will not be considered for the first team yet.

Captain Sam Ricketts is still waiting for his first league action of the season after being kept out of the side by Matt Doherty.
