Exeter City vs Oxford United preview - Grimes set for Grecians recall

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale is set to recall Matt Grimes against Oxford as the bottom two teams in the Football League do battle.

Grimes started on the bench in last weekend's home defeat to Mansfield having played for England Under-20s on the Friday night but he was arguably their man of the match having been introduced at half-time and scored just their third goal of the season with a fine free-kick.

And Tisdale could also shuffle his pack in other areas with Tom Nichols having come through his return to action off the bench unscathed while Jimmy Keohane will also hope to be in the mix for a start as the 24th-placed Grecians look for a much-needed home win.

Exeter have won just three home games in the last 12 months.

Oxford are set to hand new signing Tyrone Barnett his debut.

The Peterborough forward arrived on loan on Wednesday and is available to feature against the Grecians and with Will Hoskins having suffered a groin tear he could walk into the starting line-up.

Joe Riley and Junior Brown are expected to shake off their problems to feature while Michael Collins, whose daughter fell ill, has returned to training and will be involved.

Despite coming from a goal down to draw with Southend, the U's are yet to win a match in League Two since Michael Appleton took charge.
