Kgosi Ntlhe and Joe Newell could return from injury for Peterborough when Notts County visit London Road.
Left-back Ntlhe (groin) and midfielder Newell have both resumed training and have a chance of being involved at the weekend.
However, Michael Bostwick, Erhun Oztumer and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing remain sidelined through injury.
Defender Gaby Zakuani and on-loan winger Kenny McEvoy have been away on international duty with DR Congo and the Republic of Ireland Under-21s respectively, so they will be assessed.
Notts County are boosted by the return of three players from injury.
Defender Blair Adams (thigh), midfielder Garry Thomson (knee) and striker Danny Haynes (ankle) have all resumed training and are back with the squad.
Kyle Dixon (ankle) has also started training again but the midfielder remains a few weeks away from being in first-team contention.
Veteran goalkeeper Roy Carroll has returned unscathed from international duty with Northern Ireland so he will replace Fabian Spiess between the posts while recent signings Jordan Cranston and Drissa Traore will hope to be involved, although Cranston did make his debut against Mansfield in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
