Chesterfield vs Scunthorpe United preview - Evatt boost for Spireites

Chesterfield captain Ian Evatt returns from suspension for the visit of Scunthorpe.

Evatt served a one-match ban against the Iron in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy following his red card in the league win at Port Vale, where central defensive partner Sam Hird suffered a knee injury which will keep him out until at least December.

With Hird out and Jack Broadhead now suspended after he was sent off at Glanford Park in the JPT tie, Spireites boss Paul Cook has brought in Georg Margreitter on loan from Wolves and the Austrian could make his full debut on Saturday. However, Charlie Raglan is also an option to play alongside Evatt.

Sam Clucas could also make his debut, while Gary Roberts (hamstring), Jay O'Shea (abductor) and Romy Boco (fractured cheekbone) may also come back into the reckoning after missing out recently.

Scunthorpe boss Russ Wilcox must continue to use square pegs in round holes due to ongoing injury problems.

Wilcox has no new worries following last week's defeat at Bristol City but is still without long-term absentees Deon Burton and David Syers, plus on-loan defenders Miles Addison and Luke O'Neill.

Striker Burton and midfielder Syers are both recovering from long-term knee injuries, while Addison (knee) and Luke O'Neill (ankle) have returned to respective parent clubs Bournemouth and Burnley for treatment.

Goalkeeper Sam Slocombe (shoulder) remains sidelined, but defenders Eddie Nolan (neck) and Marcus Williams (hamstring) returned to action last week.
