Atletico Madrid make bid for long-term Liverpool target

Liverpool target Xherdan Shaqiri is the subject of a bid from Atletico Madrid, according to reports.
The Bayern Munich winger could be allowed to leave Bavaria before the transfer window slams shut and a number of clubs are said to be interested in the Swiss international.
That is said to include Liverpool as Brendan Rodgers looks to beef up his squad ahead of a potential title challenge.
But Atletico Madrid are reported to have jumped to the head of the queue for the 23-year-old, with Calciomercato reporting they have made an offer for his services.
Bayern are under no pressure to sell, however, and it is far from certain Shaqiri will leave this summer.
