Greenock Morton vs Stranraer preview - Allan missing for Morton

Morton will be without the suspended Jordan Allan against Stranraer at Cappielow after he was sent off in last week's defeat to Ayr.

Striker Andrew Barrowman has been ruled out due to a groin injury, but Stefan McCluskey could return after his shoulder problem.

Manager Jim Duffy, looking for his men to show more composure, said: "We did not play well at Ayr and one of the reasons was that everything was too rushed.

"We want to play at a good tempo, but there are times when play should be slowed down.

"Hopefully we will do that against a Stranraer side that are more than decent. "

Stranraer will be without Steven Bell, who has an ankle problem as manager Stephen Aitken returns to the Greenock ground where he spent eight seasons as a player for the first time as a manager.

The Blues opened their season with a 1-1 draw with Forfar and Aitken is looking for a more complete performance.

He said: "We were terrific in the first half and got ourselves in front, but Forfar had the better of the second and a draw was the right result.

"To do anything against a Morton side that will be looking to bounce back after losing last weekend we have to play well for the entire game."
