Forfar Athletic vs Dunfermline preview - Forfar trio give Campbell lift

Posted Friday, August 15, 2014 by PA

Forfar will be in good shape when they welcome Dunfermline to Station Park with Darren Dods and ex-Pars favourite Stephen Husband both available after suspension.

Mark Baxter has also been passed fit and boss Dick Campbell has targeted a home win.

Campbell said: "We had a decent record against Dunfermline last season with a win and two draws, so we do not feel intimidated in any way.

"It would be great to get off to a flyer in our home games by winning this one.

"We got a point at Stranraer last weekend, but we only turned up for the second half.

"We will need to play for the full game to win this one."

Dunfermline welcome back Josh Falkingham after suspension and the Pars could be further strengthened by the return to fitness of Ryan Thomson and Alex Whittle.

But Gregor Buchanan and Ryan Wallace are doubtful as the Pars look to secure their first league win.

Manager Jim Jefferies said: "It was a frustrating afternoon against Brechin last Saturday as their goalkeeper was in inspired form and we could not find a way through.

"It will be a real test at Station Park as Forfar always battle for everything.

"With a bit of better luck in front of goal I am sure that we can win."
