Stirling Albion vs Ayr Utd. preview - Ayr lifted by returning trio

Stirling Albion will include fit-again trio Ross McGeachie, David McClune and Darren Smith against Ayr in their first home game since securing promotion.

Willie Robertson is available after suspension, but Steven Doris has picked up a shoulder knock and will miss out.

Manager Greig McDonald said: "It was good to get things up and running with a point at Peterhead last weekend and we face a tough test against Ayr.

"They won well at East Stirling a fortnight ago and then defeated Morton last weekend, so they will be looking to get some real momentum behind them.

"We are however just as determined to win."

Ayr are on a high after seeing off Morton 1-0 last weekend and Kevin McKinlay has shaken off a back injury to be included in player/manager Mark Roberts' plans.

Roberts said: "It is always good to get your league campaign off and running with a win, especially against a side tipped as one of the favourites for promotion.

"We have to remember it is just a start, but if we play to that standard again then we will win more than we lose this season.

"This is Stirling's first game at Forthbank since they moved up and they will be out to enjoy it, but we can win."
