Carolina Panthers' Cam Newton spoke Wednesday (3 February) on their upcoming Super Bowl match up against the Denver Broncos.

(Q. A lot of people in the Caribbean are saying that you are to the NFL what Usain Bolt is to the Olympics. how do you feel about that?)

"Really? I got the opportunity to meet Usain last year. He was a cool guy. He was like real cool, you know? Like internationally cool. I'm just locally cool, you know? Usain is Jamaican, you know what I'm saying? I don't know. That's an honour, man. I'm so much of a fan of so many people and they try to create a monster that says he's individualistic or he's a person that does this and that and that, and I love sports. Without sports, who knows where I would be, so whether you're playing golf or in this case, track and field, I have to tip my hat to people who have been exceptional role models in a very specific field."
