The Detroit Lions trained in London on Wednesday (28th October), preparing for a meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs at Wembley Stadium on Sunday (1st November).
Script: SOUNDBITE: (English) Jim Caldwell, Detroit Lions head coach:
"Our morale has been good. I do think, there's no question about it, that's the great thing about our sport, about any sport for the most part, there are going to be some difficult times when you face some adversity, there are times when things are going to be going very, very well. In our particular sport and endeavour, because of the media attention and things of that nature, you're tested on a daily basis, even when things are going well there could be issues, that you have to deal with. So I think your character, your integrity, I think is always in question. I do think we have the right kind of people. I do think these guys have demonstrated the ability to hang in there, you haven't seen them pointing fingers or anything of that nature, but they've certainly been able to battle along and, continue to do the things we need to do in order to move forward."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions quarterback:
"I feel great. I feel like I've played some of my best football the last couple of weeks and, just trying to continue that. And as a team, I think we're, we're obviously not where we want to be in the, wins and losses category, but we have a lot of veteran players who understand what it takes to get ready to go, play games and win games in this league. So, we'll lean on our veteran leadership and go from there."
"I'm excited. I enjoy it here. It's a fun trip every year. Kind of a unique experience, not only with our surroundings but our ability to kind of hang out as a team and, nobody drives home at the end of the day, everybody kind of hangs out and it's been good."
