LA Dodgers officials react to the departure of manager Don Mattingly.
Script: SOUNDBITE (English) Andrew Friedman, Dodgers President of Baseball Operations:
"On Friday after our season ended we started discussions about the off-season and the 2016 season and as those conversations continued progressed over the weekend and into Monday we kind of got to a point where we felt like mutually that it might be better to part ways at that point and so we kind of took a couple of days continued to talk about things and ultimately we got to this point so it was amicable it was mutual something that we have a tremendous amount of respect for Donnie, what he's accomplished here, who he is."SOUNDBITE (English) Farhan Zaidi, Dodgers General Manager:
"There's always gonna be a desire to label this, was he let go, did he resign, and understanding that but frankly I've had my own level of cynicism when you hear about people mutually parting ways like you wanna believe but we can sit up here with all sincerity and say that's how it came about it was a conversation it was an organic dialogue that just led to this point Donnie feeling like maybe he needed a change us feeling like us taking the organization forward if that was his state of mind maybe it was a good time for us to make a change we expect to have a younger team going forward so the timing made sense for us as well so that's really the best way we can answer that."
