SOUNDBITE: (English) Terry Collins, New York Mets manager:
"Tonight you knew we weren't going to score a lot of runs. I mean Murph's play (Daniel Murphy stealing third base in the fourth inning) saved us going to third base, that just saved us. But you knew it was going to be a close game and you know a lot's been said about 'gee you're not hitting, gee you're not hitting'. Well look who we're facing. You know we came into a five-game series and you saw Kershaw twice and Greinke twice. That may not be fair. So we'll take what we got, we got the wins that we needed and we're going to go party for a little while and take a day off and get ready for the NLCS (National League Championship Series) and it will be a lot of fun."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Daniel Murphy, New York Mets second baseman (on stealing third base in the fourth inning):
"And so I'm kind of running into second and I looked for it before and hoping that nobody's there and I kind of give a peek and hope that nobody calls 'time out', because if I go and sprint to third base and somebody calls 'time out' then I look like a buffoon and I didn't want that to happen. So I take off, I kind of give a look and hope that nobody's called time out and then at that point I'm not fleet of foot but I was just fast enough to be able to get in there and make it."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Don Mattingly, Los Angeles Dodgers manager:
"It's disappointing no matter what the situation is. You work too hard, you put in too many hours, you travel, you do the things that guys go through to get here is extraordinary and it comes to a crash and I don't think there's any way to soften that blow."
