SOUNDBITE: (English) A.J. Hinch, Houston Astros manager:
"It's very tough. There's not a man in that room that wanted the season to end. And there's going to be 29 teams that go through what we're going through today. There's going to be one champion. So it hurts. It hurts to know that we put everything that we could into this season and it ends abruptly. Seasons like this end really quickly and you're never ready for it."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Ned Yost, Kansas City Royals manager (on pitcher Johnny Cueto's performance):
"He was unbelievably good. He didn't make a bad pitch all night. That pitch that (Luis) Valbuena hit was a good pitch. He came in after the eighth inning and was lobbying to go back out in the ninth (inning). I'm like, look, I got the best reliever in the game down there. He's going to come in and close it out. And then Kendrys (Morales) hit the three-run homer and he's like: Let me go, let me go. But you get to that point and Wade (Davis) is already hot, there's two outs, and if you sit Wade (Davis) down and you got to get him back up, it's just best straight to go to Wade (Davis) and go-ahead and finish that game. But Johnny Cueto was unbelievable. He knew the magnitude of this game, I think we all did, and he came out from the first pitch, just had everything going. Had his two-seamer, had his change-up, had his cutter. He was fantastic."
