SOUNDBITE: (English) Joseph Schooling, Singapore, (on winning the 100 m freestyle gold)
"Yeah I know it's good, considering I don't practice much freestyle, I just kinda of winged it, see where I can go and I think I'm 15th in the world right now or something, so for an event I don't gun for, I think that's a good sign for my butterfly events and those events I care more about coming up."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Joseph Schooling, Singapore (on winning relay gold in new games record time)
"So I'm glad that we went eight seconds faster than we did last SEA Games, we killed everyone, and you know we're talking about trying to make the Olympics for relay, and I think we are about two seconds off from doing that, two, three seconds maybe at most, so if we can do that, I think that's like a huge step for Singapore swimming."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Joseph Schooling, Singapore (on his training experience in the US)
"All goes back to what happens in practice, you know, I have a bunch of guys that are dedicated to be the best in the world, and we train like we are the best in the world every single day. I think that, that is why I'm performing so much better because I'm surrounded by guys that want to be Olympic gold medallist, they want to make the U.S. Olympic team, they want to be best in history, so you know, that kind of rubs off on me, and I strive for bigger and better things when I'm around them and I think we feed off each other and it clearly shows how much improvement I've made just by going to college for the first year."
