Intro:
Dongfeng Race Team skipper Charles Caudrelier believes "everybody" can win leg 4 of the Volvo Ocean Race as the teams hit thunderstorms in the Doldrums.Script:
SOUNDBITE: (English) Rob Greenhalgh, MAPFRE watch captain (On sailing conditions coming into the Doldrums)
"It's all very close, we've got the Chinese boat Dongfeng down there, Brunel and Abu Dhabi are up to windward somewhere. Fantastic weather here, champagne sailing, 18 knots of wind, 30 degrees (celcius). So we are heading south now towards the Doldrums, which we'll get to pretty soon and then onto New Zealand. But fingers crossed for a podium finish."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Simon Fisher, Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing (On sailing conditions before storms)
"I guess it's not what everyone pictures as the Doldrums, but the situation has been a little different. The kicker is going to be in about 400 miles time, when we're out of the Doldrums, so we're going to get an area that's just like the Doldrums."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Charles Caudrelier, Dongfeng Race Team skipper (On not being last anymore and teams chances of success in the leg)
"I think everybody can win this leg. Every one of the fleet is very close. I think everybody must be in ten miles."
