    Ian Williams won a record fifth world match racing tour title in Malaysia on Saturday (14th February) after reaching, and then winning, the final of the Monsoon Cup in Malaysia.

    The day couldn't have got off to a better start for Ian Williams.

    In the semi-finals of the Monsoon Cup, the GAC Pindar skipper secured a record fifth world title, making match history, after beating Eric Monin.

    The British skipper's now overtaken Australian Peter Gilmour after his latest success, adding to his titles won in 2007,2008,2011 and 2012.

    And his day of success continued.

    Taking on Lunajet's Mathieu Richard in the final it turned into a whitewash.

    Williams and crew Gerry Mitchell, Mal Parker, Chris Main and Graeme Spence taking the final 3-0, landing the trophy and the 86,000 US dollars first prize.

    It was a profitable day for the Englishman, who also collected 100,000 US dollars for his world title success.
