Intro:
Last on Leg 1, MAPFRE has rebounded strongly and on Tuesday 25th November led the challenge to Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing on the second leg of the Volvo Ocean Race out of Cape Town.
Script:
SOUNDBITE (English): Ian Walker, skipper, Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing: "We have had a few mishaps on board like a ripped sail, broken steering gear and now we find ourselves a little bit on a limb with the fleet. So a little bit nervous at the moment, but the mood is pretty relaxed."
SOUNDBITE (English): Rob Greenhalgh, watch captain, MAPFRE: "It is great to be here. A great bunch of guys on the boat. The boat seems to be going fast as well, which is a bonus, you know. And we are just pushing hard every day, trying to make our way to Abu Dhabi slowly."
SOUNDBITE (English): Sam Davies, skipper, Team SCA: "We want to tack on the east side of the front which is where the (gestures chaotically) the wind will go left ... But the practice is that we might end up being in the front of that trough. And it could overtake us so it could be a bit tricky to get through. So we want to try to stay east of it ... ahead of it, basically."
