Intro:
Postgame reaction after the San Francisco Giants won the World Series by defeating the Kansas City Royals 3-2 on Wednesday, 29 October.
Script:
SOUNDBITE (English): Ned Yost, Kansas City Royals Manager
(On losing World series and the Royals season)
"Yeah, I mean it hurts to come as close as we came in a one-run game. And to really, as magical as our run has been to end up losing the ballgame by 90 feet, it's tough. But the hard part about this is that you work all year to climb to the top of the mountain and then boom, you fall back. You got to start right back at the bottom again next year. But we gained a ton of experience. I don't think I've ever been as proud of anything in my life as I have been of this team and the way they performed this postseason. It was just fantastic."
SOUNDBITE (English): Bruce Bochy, San Francisco Giants Manager
(On winning World Series for third time in five years)
"You know, I'm numb, really through all of this. You're so blessed or fortunate to get in the World Series and to get one, it just doesn't happen that often. And to look at this and see that we won three times, I mean, I'm amazed with what these guys did and the fact that we had won three times in five years. It's not that easy. But when you have a group of warriors like we have it's, I mean, they continue to just amaze you. And they were relentless."
SOUNDBITE (English): Madison Bumgarner, San Francisco Giants Pitcher
(On how emotional win was)
"Yeah, we won game seven of the World Series on the road. So it was definitely emotional. It's been an unbelievable year for us. So many ups and downs. We faced a lot of adversity. I couldn't be happier for my teammates. There were a lot of guys that couldn't deserve it anymore then they do. And like I said, I'm thankful for them and truly an honour to be part of this team and organisation."
