Intro:
Post-game reaction after the San Francisco Giants beat the Washington Nationals 3-2 to capture the National League Division Series on Tuesday (7 October) at AT&T Park in San Francisco, California.
Script:
SOUNDBITE (English): Matt Williams, Washington Nationals Manager:
(On being proud of team).
"I'm proud of their effort. We established a way to go about this game in spring training and we accomplished that goal. We played the way we wanted to play, did a lot of things right. So, it's tender and it's bitter and all of those things. But I'm proud of them, proud of the way they went about it."
SOUNDBITE (English): Bruce Bochy, San Francisco Giants Manager:
(On what it means to be going back to National League Championship Series).
"It means I really have a gritty bunch out there. I told them earlier, there's nobody's will that's stronger then theirs or desire that's deeper. They were determined no to get back on the plane and go to Washington. And we couldn't quite put the game away but they kept fighting. When they tied the game, we put pressure right back on them. And it's all about them and it's fun to see a group of guys that come together that are so unselfish and are playing with so much grit.
SOUNDBITE (English): Ryan Vogelsong, San Francisco Giants Pitcher:
(On how he felt on mound).
"You never know what you're going to have until you go out there in the first inning. And the first couple (of pitches) came out of my hand pretty good. And the crowd's into us, the adrenaline is running. And I was really trying to make some mechanical adjustments over the last five or six days when I wasn't pitching. And I was just really focused on what I was doing with my lower half. And it just helped me get some more velocity and made my pitches better and I was just really trying to focus on that."
