SOUNDBITE (English) Michael Wacha, St. Louis Cardinals Pitcher:

"With this lineup that Boston has, you can't make mistakes or they'll let you pay. A good hitter like Ortiz, I made a mistake, 3-2 change-up up in the zone, and he made me pay. I was pretty mad coming in, but Yadi came up and was like, "Don't worry. Just hold them here. We're going to score in the top of the 7th." Sure enough we put up a big three spot. Everyone was starting to feel pretty good. Everyone came in, had all the confidence in the world that we were going to put up runs, and they really picked me up. And it was a lot of fun to watch."

SOUNDBITE (English) Carlos Beltran, St. Louis Cardinals Outfielder:

"We feel confident and feel good about ourselves because we know how well we play at home. And having the fans on your side is a big factor. It's like Boston playing here. It's kind of hard to play here when you play on the road, and you're playing against everything, the whole team, the fans, everybody. Even though you have to go out and perform and execute and find a way to play good baseball, but it's comfortable for us to go back home."

SOUNDBITE (English) Mike Matheny, St. Louis Cardinals Manager:

"Excited to get home. I know everybody is. Being able to take the World Series back to St. Louis and have our home fan base supporting us. But it's been, these last couple of days, the guys, it meant a lot to be able to play here in Fenway. It's a pretty unique experience for a lot of guys that have never played here before to be able to do it on this stage. But there's no place like home, there's no doubt about it."

SOUNDBITE (English) John Farrell, Boston Red Sox Manager:

"No, this time of the year with what our guys have proven over the long haul, we're looking forward to the challenge of going into what should be a great environment over in St. Louis. Looking forward to Jake taking them on in Game 3, and continuing to pace our way from the mound. I thought with the exception of one inning, I know it's only two games, we continued to throw the ball well from the mound, and fully expect that to continue."

SOUNDBITE (English) John Lackey, Boston Red Sox Pitcher:

"There for a little while it was going pretty good. I felt good tonight. I felt like I had probably a little better fastball than my last start. Their guy was pitching well. The margin for error is really slim this time of year. And kind of let one go tonight, but we'll be back the next one."
