SOUNDBITE (English) Joe Maddon, Tampa Bay Rays Manager (On David Ortiz being in the middle of the line-up):
"Well, it's different, and especially the kind of year that he's had. He presents so differently. There's times we try to walk him, and we've done that on occasion. Tonight, that was a leadoff home run, and the other one I think was with two outs early on in the game. So, when he's cooking man, he's very difficult. He's very difficult to play against. We've had it both ways for the last several years. Sometimes we've come out on top. They're coming out on top these first two games. I'm really looking forward to Game 5 here."

SOUNDBITE (English) John Farrell, Boston Red Sox Manager:
"Well, when he (David Ortiz) hits two home runs, things are going to resolve around him. But, you can't say enough about the year he's had. He's probably surpassed our expectation of number of games played. He's been so productive, which has been consistent with his entire career. It was always just a matter of health. And the work he's done to maintain the health. He's the main cog in our line-up. And to build around him, leading up to him and then guys that follow him in the line-up, we're capable of scoring runs in a couple of ways, but when you can score it in one swing of the bat, as he's done many times over, he's a huge threat for us."

"I mean, basically his (David Price) stuff is so good and he attacks the zone so much, we kind of went away from our normal approach to try to work the count, get the starting pitcher out of the game. And we had to hit. I mean, that was basically it."
