SOUNDBITE (English): Riccardo Fraccari, Co-President, World Baseball Softball Confederation:
"The proposal to make it to the IOC for the Olympic programme is new, is different from the past because we think a very short tournament, eight teams in two groups of four practically in three days you finish the season, semi-final and final. So five days game and this for sure allows for the participation of all the players that want to participate including not only the MLB (Major League Baseball), but also the other professional organisations"
SOUNDBITE: (English): Antonio Castro, Vice-President, World Baseball Softball Confederation
"I want to speak about this being a very good and very beautiful moment for baseball and softball
SOUNDBITE: (English) Don Porter, Co-President, World Baseball Softball Confederation:
"I would correct you in regards to Mr (Fidel) Castro being a dictator, he was the President of the country, but we don't want to get into the politics of it, we think Tony (Antonio Castro) being here is a great representative for the sport and not from the political side of it. We welcome him and what he has done to support both baseball and softball and we see this as a way to show all the rest of the world that we are all together in sport and we are not about politics and we really welcome Tony on board as part of our team"
