Reus, 29, and Gartmann, 25, announced their family would expand in October last year and the jolly day has arrived as confirmed by Dortmund on Sunday.

The club congratulated their captain on Twitter and wrote: "Papa Reus.

"Captain Marco Reus is officially the dad of a healthy daughter!

"Our warmest congratulations to Marco and Scarlett. Welcome to the BVB family, little princess."

Reus has been dating the stunning model since 2015.

Gartmann is an avid Instagram user and regularly updates her 229,000 followers with snaps from her life.

She is a massive horse riding fan and often poses with her long-faced friend.

The model also loves travelling and is no stranger to showing off her curves in the world's most beautiful places.

Gartmann has also posed in shoots for car makers Volkswagen and Hyundai.

However, her Instagram posts have got her in trouble as she was reportedly dragged into a court battle for advertising on social media - which is banned in Germany.

Designer jewellery and bags were said to have been posted on her page, breaking German laws.

Meanwhile, Reus has rejuvenated his career after a string of serious injuries ruled him out of action for longer spells in the previous seasons.

The winger missed the 2014 World Cup in Brazil due to an ankle ligaments tear and then sit out the Euro 2016 with a groin problem.

And in 2017, another ligaments injury sidelined him for a half of the calendar year - with Reus eventually making his Germany return in June 2018 after being out of the squad for nearly two years.

But he has been in terrific form this season, scoring 15 goals and adding 8 assists for Dortmund with the club currently topping the Bundesliga table.

Reus has been made club captain by new coach Lucian Favre this season, before copping Germany's Player of the Year 2018 award.
