Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is unhappy that Manchester United want Gareth Bale
REAL MADRID star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly angry at Manchester United's interest in Gareth Bale.
Ronaldo reportedly wants to leave Real Madrid for Manchester United despite quitting Old Trafford back in the summer of 2009.
The 32-year-old is said to be unhappy at the Bernabeu because he feels club president Florentino Perez has betrayed him by failing to give him a new contract.
United, however, are thought to be cautious about chasing their former flame with the Red Devils instead choosing to focus on his Real Madrid team-mate Bale.
Yet Spanish publication Don Balon says United's eagerness to sign the Wales international has angered Ronaldo.
Bale has struggled for Los Blancos this season with injuries derailing his campaign.
The 28-year-old has returned to the fold in recent weeks but has been unable to get Real's season back on track.
Given the La Liga giants' current plight, a move away at the end of the season looks likely.
United, despite closing in on a deal to sign Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, want the forward.
And Don Balon say their interest has rankled with Ronaldo, who has his heart set on a reunion with Jose Mourinho.
United have supposedly already guaranteed Bale a place in their team, in news that could trouble the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial on the wing.
And Mourinho has also assured Bale that he will do everything to help him win the Ballon d'Or.
Any deal, however, is unlikely to come cheap.
Real are expected to demand at least the £86million they paid Tottenham for him five years ago.
