ANTOINE GRIEZMANN has been blasted by fans for dressing up as a black basketball player.
The Atletico Madrid ace was warned by one user: "You're gona get so much backlash.. (sic)"
And his social media account was bombarded with comments slating him for his shocking decision.
A Barcelona fan wrote: "Don't come near my club pls and thank you."
And a number of GIFs showing embarrassment, awkwardness or urging him to delete the tweet followed.
France star Griezmann, 26, desperately tried to correct the situation.
He said: "Calm down guys, I'm a fan of the Harlem globetrotters and the food times... it's a tribute."
But American rapper Lecrae slammed: "Highly offensive in toward the black community. Even worse to tell the offended to calm down so can you continue to parade the post which shows lack of understanding and concern."
Griezmann then wrote: "I agree that it's awkward for me. If I hurt some people excuse me."
Griezmann's shock choice of outfit comes just days after Manchester City and England star Raheem Sterling was racially abused and attacked by a fan.
He was allegedly called a "n*****" at the players' entrance to City's training ground academy ahead of their 4-1 win over Tottenham.
He is said to have pulled into the entrance of the car park at which point he was confronted by a man hurling abuse.
Sterling apparently then got out of his car to ask what the problem was, only to be kicked in the leg.
It is not yet clear if the club have decided to report the incident to Greater Manchester Police, although it is saisd that the incident was caught on CCTV.
City are yet to comment.
Newcastle's on-loan player Ivan Toney was shockingly racially abused by a Wigan 'fan' today.
The vile troll called Toney, currently at the Latics, a "c***".
