Manchester City Dedicate Tottenham Victory To David Silva

Manchester City were without playmaker David Silva this afternoon after it emerged that he was ruled out because of personal reasons.

Rumours began to circulate that it was baby-related, but Manchester City correspondent Sam Lee confirmed that was untrue. Nothing has yet been confirmed and we await news on his situation.

But shortly after the final whistle, Silva's teammates paid tribute to the Spaniard, holding up his number 21 shirt in the dressing room.

Fernandinho posted on his Twitter page saying: "Well done guys, that win is for you, David Silva." while Yaya Toure and Benjamin Mendy also paid tribute:

After netting another wonderful goal, Kevin De Bruyne also appeared to pay tribute to Silva by making his number 21 shirt number with his two hands - a classy gesture from the Belgian.

Manchester City knocked four past Tottenham in another dominant display, with goals from De Bruyne, Gundogan and two from Raheem Sterling helped Pep's side stretch their league lead to 14 points.

The fact that City have won 16 consecutive Premier League games is testament to their incredible run of form.

In fact, Guardiola's side have already won against all of the other teams to finish in the top-six last season.

A sign of true champions.
