Gary Lineker Hilariously Responds To Zinedine Zidane With Brilliant Harry Kane Tweet

Gary Lineker has stoked his rivalry with Zinedine Zidane by brilliantly Tweeting about Harry Kane following his heroics for Spurs against Liverpool.

The Leicester City hero and the Real Madrid boss have been embroiled in a war of words over Karim Benzema.

Lineker claimed the French striker was a 'tad overrated' after his underwhelming display against Spurs in the Champions League.

Naturally, Zidane leaped to the defence of his striker while addressing Lineker's remarks.

"It's not just Karim, he's annoying me with [what he says about] Karim because, for people who know football, it's embarrassing," Zidane said via Goal.

Naturally, Zidane leaped to the defence of his striker while addressing Lineker's remarks.

"It's not just Karim, he's annoying me with [what he says about] Karim because, for people who know football, it's embarrassing," Zidane said via Goal.

"He's the best number nine for Madrid, by a long way. Karim will not score 60 goals, but he will score 20 goals and assists for 30 or 40 more.

"It bothers me when people talk badly about my players. For me, Benzema is the best. For me, a striker doesn't only need to score goals. Karim has everything, not only the goals," Zidane added.

But Super Sunday saw Kane bag another pair of Premier League goals with Lineker taking the opportunity to post a Tweet directed at Zidane.

The prolific England international has been heavily linked with a transfer to Real Madrid with Zidane an admirer. Even going as far as saying he's the 'complete player'.

"It's a great compliment and one I will take as a positive, take in my stride and try to use as confidence. I'll always keep working on stuff. I never feel you can always be the best so I will keep working at things," Kane told Sky Sports in response to that huge compliment.

Will Kane swap the English capital for the Spanish capital, in the summer? Watch this space.
