The Daily Mirror claim the Special One has assured the England winger he has a place in the squad.
The 30-year-old had been tipped to leave Old Trafford this summer as part of Mourinho's overhaul of the side he inherited from Louis van Gaal.

The reports claim Juan Mata, Matteo Darmian and Ander Herrera could all leave United but Young is set to stay.
The winger signed a contract last summer to keep him at the club until 2018.
Mourinho has apparently been impressed with Young’s work-rate and versatility and believes he can add something to the United squad.
Young struggled with injuries last campaign and was restricted to just 18 Premier League appearances.
And another Red Devils stalwart - Michael Carrick - signed a new one-year deal at the club yesterday.

The midfielder said: "This great club has been a part of my life for the past 10 years so I am delighted this incredible journey is continuing.
"It’s great to have the opportunity to work under Jose Mourinho, who has achieved so much during his managerial career."
