Steven Gerrard Sends Message To Friend Fernando Torres

This week Fernando Torres admitted that he didn't actually enjoy winning the Champions League when he was at Chelsea. You can't help but feel that victory tonight might be the sweetest yet for a man who already has a World Cup and European Championships medal in his collection.
Torres said that because he wasn't enjoying his football when Chelsea were surprised winners against Bayern Munich in 2012 he didn't really enjoy the Champions League win, done as a substitute.
Tonight he gets the chance to win a second winners medal as Atletico Madrid take on Real Madrid and he's likely to be starting for the club he captain aged 19. The home grown striker is back playing for Diego Simeone's side and is enjoying somewhat of a renaissance.
And his former teammate at Liverpool and friend Steven Gerrard sent him a message ahead of tonight's final:
The two rivals from the Spanish capital played against each other in the final in Lisbon two seasons ago and Atleti gave up a 1-0 lead late in normal time when Sergio Ramos equalised and went on to lose 4-1 in extra time.
Torres wasn't back playing for the Vicente Calderon side then but now he'll be determined to help the side he helped win Segunda Division, Spain's second tier, in 2002, to win their first Champions League title in their third final.
