Max Eberl confirmed Tobias Strobl has signed a four-year contract with VfL Borussia Monchengladbach and will be joining the club at the end of the campaign.
The TSG 1899 Hoffenheim midfielder is seen as a direct replacement for English Premier League bound Havard Nordtveit and Gladbach's sporting director believes the 25-year-old is a more than adequate to fill the Norwegian's spot in midfield.
"We're delighted that a player with Tobias Strobl's Bundesliga experience has chosen to represent Borussia," Eberl told the Bundesliga official website.
"He can play in several positions in defence and his personality also fits in well here."
Strobl and Die Kraichgauer are currently still embroiled in a relegation scrap but the academy graduate hopes he can part ways with his boyhood club on a positive note.
"I have had three great years in Hoffenheim and am determined to bid farewell on the back of surviving the relegation battle. Then, once summer comes around, I will look forward to my new challenge in Mönchengladbach," he said.
