Livingston 2 - 3 St. Mirren: Lawrence Shankland double leads St Mirren to victory over Livingston

Posted Sunday, March 20, 2016 by PA

A spectacular brace from Lawrence Shankland ended a Livingston revival as St Mirren saw them off 3-2 at Almondvale Stadium.

The visitors had twice led before being pulled back level by David Hopkins' men, but an exquisite turn and volley into the top corner from Shankland sealed back-to-back wins.

The Buddies had taken an early lead through Stephen Mallan, who tucked away a penalty after Callum Gallagher was felled inside the area in the 15th minute.

Liam Buchanan levelled 83 seconds later with a neat finish, before Shankland's first, a sharp hit from the edge of the area, gave Alex Rae's side half-time lead.

Jordan White poked in on 53 minutes after Charlie Telfer hit the post to level the scores, but Shankland's volley ended Livi's run of three games unbeaten.
