Radamel Falcao could complete Atletico Madrid return

The Radamel Falcao saga could take yet another twist over the coming hours. The Colombian international was once recognised as one of the most revered strikers in world football, but he has endured a torrid time on English soil.
It appears, though, that he could be about to be offered an escape route away from Premier League champions Chelsea.
Indeed, Matt Law of the Telegraph claims that the forward is in Madrid talking to Atletico over a potential return to the club.
Falcao, who is currently owned by Ligue 1 outfit Monaco, enjoyed a fine stint at the La Liga outfit between 2011 and 2013.
Perhaps, then, a return to the Spanish capital could stimulate Falcao as he goes in search of getting his career back on track.
FALCAO STRUGGLES
Unfortunately, he just hasn't been the same since picking up a cruciate injury - he has scored just five goals during his 18-month spell in the Premier League - so it won't be easy for Atletico boss Diego Simeone to get the best out of him.
If the deal does come to prominence, then it looks set to be an interesting period for all involved. In all honesty, it appears that Falcao no longer has the pace required to produce the goods at the highest level.
Chelsea, who signed Alexandre Pato on Friday, may well have to plan for life without Falcao at their disposal.
