Barcelona have given up in their attempt to sign Celta Vigo forward Nolito this month, according to Marca.
The 29-year-old was the only signing Luis Enrique had asked for in the January transfer window as he wants to bolster his attacking options, but negotiations between the Spanish champions and Celta have broken down.
Barcelona wanted to sign Nolito on a loan deal until the end of the season, and were willing to pay a penalty fee if they did not make the move permanent this summer.
But instead of giving Celta compensation by payment, Barcelona were reportedly willing to give them players.
