BILEL MOHSNI last night slammed the SFA after being hit with a seven-game ban – and then took a pop at ex-Rangers boss Stuart McCall.

Bilel Mohsni BLASTS SFA after being handed seven-game ban

The former Gers defender – red carded after the Premiership play-off final loss to Motherwell for kicking and punching Lee Erwin – reckons he did not receive a fair trial at an SFA Judicial Panel at Hampden yesterday after his suspension was increased by three games.

The Tunisian cap reacted angrily after Erwin shoved him and then got involved with Lionel Ainsworth and Craig Moore, who accepted two-game bans for violent conduct. Erwin received a post-match booking.

He said: "It was a harsh decision. I'm upset by this – even more by the fact I received seven games, Erwin received zero, and the others involved in the fight just two.

"My reaction wasn’t good, but what is the difference between what they did to me and what I did to them? The SFA had in their mind to give people an example – it was me.”

McCall – since replaced by Mark Warburton – said after the May 31 match Mohsni would never play for the Gers again, leaving the 27-year-old fuming.

He added: "McCall didn’t trust me, even when he didn’t have the job. That was very disappointing.

"But when I heard what he said after the play-off, I was like, 'Wow, wow, wow’. Normally every manager protects their player, whether they’re wrong or not.

"After May 31 both of us were out of a job, so it was not his business to speak about me."

Meanwhile, the SFA rejected Newcastle owner Mike Ashley's appeal against his conviction over "dual ownership" rules with his Ibrox involvement but reduced his fine from £7,500 to £1,000.
