Ghislain Printant has urged his Bastia players to "hold the flag of Corsica high" as they prepare to take on Nice in the Derby de la Mediterranean.

Bastia head into the game on the back of a defeat to Lorient last weekend - their first in the league of 2015, following a run of three straight wins.

Despite their recent improvement they still remain just four points above the Ligue 1 relegation zone, and one point worse off than their opponents.

Printant told local media at a press conference: "The match on Saturday is very important. I'm not worried. The players know the importance of the match. Our sole objective is survival.

"We must lead by example by being conquerors and hold the flag of Corsica high. My boys are competitors and I know (on Saturday) they will respond."

Jean-Louis Leca (flu), El Hadji Ba and Brandao are unavailable for the Corsicans, according to the club's official website.

Nice, who will travel to the Stade Armand Cesari without any away support for security reasons, have lost two and drawn three of their last five matches, scoring just once. Les Aiglons' last victory came at home to Marseille on January 23.

Nice defender Romain Genevois told www.ogcnice.com: "We lost at home, so we will do everything to win there to rebalance things. We go there with the desire to please the fans."
